Since
owning the TA, for me the Achilles heel of the bike has been the
comfort of the saddle, or to be more accurate the total lack of
comfort. This didn't show up on my initial test ride on the bike
as it only seems to get bad after the first hour or so of riding.
I think
there were a number of problems with the original design. Firstly
the cutaway fixes your body in one fixed position, it also slopes
slightly forward and after a while it feel like the foam becomes
compressed. I tried an AirHawk seat pad, which did more than double
the endurance time in the seat but I still suffered from not being
able to move around.

The
solution came via a user of the XRV forum. He had modded a seat
by the inclusion of extra foam in the cutaway, with the original
covering material then stretched over.
